Lucca is one of the cities most loved all of Tuscany, a stop that cannot really miss in a classic itinerary to the discovery of the region.
What to see:
Top attractions are the 16th Century Walls, the Botanical Garden, the Duomo of S. Martino, the Roman Amphitheater, the Guinigi Tower and the National Pinacoteca.
How to get it:
By car: Take A11 and exit at Lucca Est or Ovest. The old center of the city is closed off to traffic, so once you get there, you need to park outside the walls.
By train: Several regional trains allow you to get Lucca approximately in 20 minutes. The Lucca train station is located in Piazza Ricasoli, in front of Porta San Pietro, one of the doorways in the walls through which you may access the heart of the city.
How to visit it:
If you come both by train or bus, you may decide to either walk or rent a bike. The city is small and flat so it is easy to navigate. However, if you are short on time a bike may be a plus.
Lucca Comics & Games, one of the most important events dedicated to comics, cartoons, games, video games in all Europe. Lucca Summer Festival, musical appointment that welcomes some of the most popular and renowned musicians, singers and bands of any time, coming from all around the world.
