This Belle Époque icon of the Italian Riviera began life as the Select Palace Hotel. A true Tuscan pedigree was established being designed by Florentines Giuseppe De Micheli and later Ugo Giovannozzi.
The Palace was famously ahead of the times with ‘telephone sets and its own automatic laundry’. In the 1930s, Select Palace changed its name to Principe di Piemonte, in honour of Umberto II of Savoy, the last King of Italy.
For over a century royalty and cultural stars have passed through the corridors and bars of this Riviera landmark, Puccini, Pirandello and Marlene Dietrich.
Today the glitter belongs to Chef Giuseppe Mancino, who earnt two Michelin stars for Il Piccolo Principe. It is the only restaurant on the Riviera seashore to hold this status and to do so continuously since 2014.
In 2021 The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte underwent a complete refurbishment. Reconfigured rooms are spacious, light, as well as a showcase of sustainability and Tuscan artisanship.
The Presidential Suite was created by Florentine clothier and elite lifestyle entrepreneur Stefano Ricci. His inspiration was a contemporary Great Gatsby, a lover of luxury and elegant yachts.
